In 1982 the RCH Brewery started brewing in the Royal Clarence Hotel and was purchased in 1984 by the Davey Family.
In 1993 Graham Dunbaven was employed as a brewer and between him and Paul Davey new recipies where developed.
Production quickly grew from 5 barrels a fortnight to 15 barrels a week which became a problem for the hotel and guests as during the afternoons all the cold water was used for the brewing process.
They then decided to move their brewing process to West Hewish to building that had previously been used to make cider and also been used as a transport yard. After 3 months they where ready to open their 15 barrel plant.
This continued until 2000 when they once again could not keep up with demand and decided to upgrade to a 30 barrel brew plant.
